The chief of the Shai people, Nene Teye Kwesi Agyeman, along with tribal elders and traditional healers, welcomed the U.S. participants of MEDFLAG 11 first at historic Dodowa Forest and then at Shai Hills Resource Reserve, July 17 during a special cultural day. The bilateral MEDFLAG 11 strengthens the relationship and interoperability between the U.S. and Ghana military forces through 10 days of collaborative training and sharing of medical expertise, as well as joint humanitarian civic assistance in local communities.
