Jihad Liji, a member of the Dawr Az Zawr Civil Council, talks to a member of the Syrian Democratic Forces at the Zir Water Pumping Station near Busayrah, Syria, April 4, 2018. Once this station is fully operational, it will provide clean drinking water for nearly 20,000 Syrians.
The pumping station became non-operational when the local power grid was destroyed in a battle between the SDF and ISIS. Members of the DCC and Coalition are working to obtain the parts and labor necessary to repair the station. Once the parts are acquired, experts believe it will only require a few weeks to return the station to full capacity. (U.S. Army Photo by Staff Sgt. Timothy R. Koster)
