Brig. Gen. Joseph Osterman, commanding general of Marine Corps Recruiting Command and former commanding general of 1st Marine Division (Forward), pins a Legion of Merit Medal on Col. Robert Castellvi, chief of staff of I Marine Expeditionary Force and former 1st Marine Division (Forward) chief of staff during an award ceremony, July 14. Castellvi was awarded with the Legion of Merit for his outstanding service during the Division's last deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
