180418-N-VI515-0149 YOKOSUKA, Japan (Apr. 18, 2018) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Keith Runnells, from Las Vegas, sets up a portable eductor for simulated flooding due to hull damage aboard the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a crew certification by Afloat Training Group Western Pacific. Crew certification is a five-day process where inspectors ensure a ship is ready to safely operate at sea with a trained and qualified crew. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
