U.S. Marines with 1st Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, along with Orange County Sheriff’s Department Hazardous Devices Section, examine fragmentation to identify what type of ordnance was detonated during the Post-Blast Analysis Course at Camp Pendleton, Calif., April 12, 2018. By examining exploded ordnance, technicians are able to determine what type of ordnance was used, the amount of explosives used, if it was buried and the trajectory if it was fired.
