Soldiers assigned to Apache Company, 1st Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Hohenfels, Germany, settle into their hasty fighting positions as they prepare to battle soldiers assigned to 173rd Ranger Airborne Brigade during Joint Warfighting Assessment 18 (JWA). Apache Company Soldiers fulfil a unique role in JWA as the only unit to operate as opposing forces, or OPFOR, granting Soldiers the opportunity to enable realistic training for other units while leaning lessons themselves.
