    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit     

    MEDITERRANEAN SEA (April 20, 2018) Marine Lance Cpl. Eric Foster, a rifleman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) and a part of combat cargo aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21), uses chains to secure a mobile water storage unit aboard the ship April 20, 2018. Combat Cargo is a platoon-sized element consisting of Marines and Sailors from various occupational fields and units within the MEU to assist deck department in the safe on-loading and off-loading of equipment as well as safe stowage of equipment while deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
