SOUTHWEST ASIA – Iraqi Counter Terrorism Service members conduct fast-rope training in Baghdad, April 25, 2018. Fast-roping involves descending to the ground from an airborne helicopter using a thick rope. The fast-rope technique is useful for deploying troops from a helicopter to areas where landing the aircraft is not safe. CTS is laying the foundation for the future of Iraq by improving their capabilities in order to provide a secure and stable environment for the Iraqi people. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt. Dennis B. Glass)
