On the operating table, Navy Lt. Dana L. Vanartsdalen, surgeon and San Diego, Calif., native, Petty Officers 3rd Class Godfrey O. Aneke, Brooklyn, N.Y., native, and Jon W. Hill, Avery, Texas, native, both corpsmen, Alpha Company, 4th Medical Battalion, Pittsburg, Pa., perform simulated surgery on a training casualty during a combined-forces medical training exercise with Georgian medics and nurses. The 4th Medical Battalion set up a Forward Resuscitative Surgical Suite during Exercise Agile Spirit 2011 to support the 350 U.S. Marines and sailors conducting counterinsurgency and peacekeeping operations training with nearly 500 Georgian soldiers from the Georgian 4th Infantry Brigade in Vaziani Training Area, outside of Tblisi.
