U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 5, 2018) A Marine assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit fast-ropes from the back of an MV-22 Osprey assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (Reinforced) to the flight deck of the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), May 5, 2018. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Fla., is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
