U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 7, 2018) Sailors aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) prepare an AV-8B Harrier jet attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), to be moved into the ship's hangar bay, May 7, 2018. Iwo Jima, homeported in Mayport, Fla., is on deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
