Maj. Gen. William G. Beard, the deputy commanding general, U.S. Army Reserve-Pacific, visits citizen-soldiers and citizen-airmen from Oregon, Hawaii and Washington in Singapore July 26. The servicemen and women were in Singapore conducting a joint bilateral training exercise called Tiger Balm with the 24th Singapore Infantry Brigade, Singapore armed forces. Tiger Balm is a command post exercise designed to allow the armies to become familiar with each other's techniques, tactics and procedures as well as foster cultural relations.
