FORT CARSON, Colo. — Wounded Warrior Tyler Wilson receives assistance crossing the log fire to finish the Spartan Sprint race May 6, 2018. Thousands of participants made Training Area 4 a personal playground over the weekend with not only adult participation, but kids ran the 1- and 2-mile heats on both days. From start to finish the athletes were challenged with hills, uneven terrain, obstacles, water and rattlesnakes as they completed the event. The race tested their athletic, physical and mental toughness throughout the 9.6-mile Super Spartan course May 5, 2018, and the 5.1-mile Spartan Sprint route May 6, 2018. (Photo by Walt Johnson)
