BOSTON, Mass. – Col. Charles Ormsby, Director, Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, takes a closer look at the bioengineering design pipeline during a visit to the Broad Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, April 25. The visit to the MIT-Broad Foundry, part of an AFRL ‘bluing’ trip, exposed researchers to the state-of-the-art biotechnology research underway at the MIT lab. The diversity of the bluing tour stops, including the visit to the Broad Institute, spanned military research, academia and industry, and provided a new perspective on the broad intersections between ongoing research efforts in DoD and the wider biotechnology domain.
