Chief Warrant Officer 3 Gary Tamietti, an intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance pilot assigned to 339th Military Intelligence Company, an Army Reserve unit attached to Task Force ODIN, walks the “ODIN mile” between the airfield and his unit headquarters a last time following a mission at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Iraq, July 26. Tamietti, a Vietnam veteran, is scheduled to retire after returning to military service in 2003. “At the end of the day, I’m proud to be a warrant officer and proud to be a pilot,” he said. “It’s been an adventure, no question.”
