Ohio National Guardsman Sgt. Benjamin T. Tiller, a senior musician percussionist with the 122nd Army Band, completes an obstacle during the confidence course portion of the Region IV Best Warrior Competition May 9 at Fort McCoy, Wis. The Best Warrior Competition is a grueling three-day test of a Soldier’s endurance, mental toughness and military skills through a series of events including an Army Physical Fitness Test, M-4 rifle and M-9 pistol qualification, stress fire exercise, day and night land navigation, written test, essay, appearance board, Army Warrior Tasks, call for fire scenario and a 12-mile ruck march. Winners will advance to compete against their peers from across the country at the National Guard Bureau competition July 23-27 at Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania.
