U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 10, 2018) U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment (BLT 2/6), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), form a front utilizing riot shields during riot control training as part of a non-lethal training course aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), May 10, 2018. The training was a part of the Escalation of Force – Non-Lethal Effects training curriculum, a course designed to teach individuals to control and de-escalate a situation while minimizing risk of significant injury and collateral damage.
