The Kalmar Nyckel, a tall ship from Delaware, passes under the Cape Cod Canal Railroad Bridge on its voyage from Provincetown, Mass., to its next port of call, Lewes, Del. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, operates and maintains the Cape Cod Canal with experienced marine traffic control personnel who regulate the movements of all vessels sailing the waterway 24 hours a day, seven days a week. More than four million visitors enjoy the canal and its adjacent lands annually for a variety of outdoor activities, including the opportunity to watch and identify the vessels that pass through. More information on the Cape Cod Canal can be found at: http://www.nae.usace.army.mil/recreati/ccc/ccchome.htm. (U.S. Army photo/Kevin Burke)
