U.S. Army Soldiers from left to right Pfc. Kobi LaFromboise, of the 2 285 Aviation Spc. Taryn Stoen and Spc. Amanda Zakeri, both of the 188th Army Band, discuss caption info for a photo in a group activity during unit public affairs representative (UPAR) training at Camp Grafton, N.D., near Devils Lake May 11 and 12, 2018. Soldiers from North Dakota National Guard units across the state had the opportunity to attend the UPAR Course, hosted by instructors from the organization's Public Affairs Office, 119th Wing Public Affairs Office and 116th Public Affairs Detachment. Attendees learned basic public affairs principles and responsibilities, including news writing and photography, which will help them to develop plans with their commanders to promote unit training events and missions on social media platforms or to share print and video products with local media representatives.
