Army Col. James F. Bowie, a resident of Alexandria, La., and native of Colfax, La., has retired after 31 years of service. Bowie celebrated with a retirement ceremony at the Stafford House on Camp Beauregard in Pineville, La., July 19. His last active duty assignment was the state inspector general for the Louisiana National Guard.
