Capt. Valerie Kryger helps Coach Morra Gill participate in a simulated Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle rollover drill during Marine Corps Recruiting Command’s 2018 Coaches Workshop aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, May 17. The Coaches Workshop educates approximately 50 collegiate coaches from across the nation about essential Marine Corps leadership skills and programs that they can share with their student athletes based on first-hand experiences. Gill is a member of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), one of two Division I National Collegiate Athletic Association Historically Black Colleges and Universities leagues. The Marine Corps partners with MEAC to educate and inspire coaches via Marine Corps leadership styles and characteristics, creating brand advocates among the organization’s key influencers. Gill is an assistant coach at the Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia. Kryger is an officer selection officer at Officer Selection Station Miami in Miami, Florida.
