Larry Hinshaw speaks with Pfc. Jahaziel Gurrola-Gonzalez during an Evening Parade reception at Marine Corps Recruiting Command’s 2018 Coaches Workshop aboard Marine Corps Barracks Washington in the District of Columbia, May 18. The Coaches Workshop educates approximately 50 collegiate coaches from across the nation about essential Marine Corps leadership skills and programs that they can share with their student athletes based on first-hand experiences. Hinshaw is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), an organization that educates volleyball coaches, recognizes elite players and coaches, and promotes volleyball competitions and networking opportunities for volleyball members. The Marine Corps partners with the AVCA to inspire coaches via Marine Corps leadership styles and characteristics, creating brand advocates among the organization’s key influencers. He is a volleyball coach at Marion High School in Marion, Indiana. (Marine Corps photo by LCpl. Naomi Marcom)
