    Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Brandon Wethington of Clayton, Ind., platoon sergeant in the 209th Quartermaster Company, hugs the mother of his fallen friend, Spc. Luke P. Frist who died Jan. 5, 2004, from wounds sustained when their convoy was hit by an improvised explosive in Ramadi, Iraq. Frist’s mother, Patti, has been the unit’s family readiness group leader for more than 8 years, since before her son’s death.
