Petty Officer 3rd Class Richard Dumais, from Plaistow, N.H., calibrates a throttle box tester aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8). Makin Island is the flagship for Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 5 and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU) and is underway for PHIBRON-MEU integrated training in preparation for the ship’s upcoming maiden deployment.
