Soldiers assigned to the Mission Command Element, 1st Infantry Division, from Fort Riley, Kansas, embark on the second day of a convoy from Poznan, Poland to Bemowo Piskie Training Area, Poland, May 27, 2018. The purpose of the convoy was to move the unit across Poland and establish a Tactical Command Post (TAC) near BPTA in support of the upcoming Saber Strike exercise. Saber Strike 18, a multinational exercise scheduled to run from June 3-15, will test the eFP battlegroups located in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Poland. The exercise is part of NATO's overall deterrence and defense posture and will demonstrate the Alliance's determination and ability to act as one in response to any aggression against its members.
