MEDITERRANEAN SEA (May 27, 2018) A Sailor salutes a Marine UH-1Y Venom helicopter, attached to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), as it takes off from the San Antonio-Class amphibious transport dock USS New York (LPD 21) May 27, 2018. The 26th MEU conducts regular flight operations in order to maintain proficiency and unit readiness while deployed to the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations. U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
