U.S. Marines with Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron (VMU) 1 conducted its first ever “Winging Ceremony” at the Sonoran Pueblo aboard Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Wednesday, May 23, 2018. A winging ceremony is a ceremony in which enlisted and commissioned Marines get Golden Wings pinned on them in recognition of their efforts and completion of school and various trainings. This is the first time this ceremony has been held Marine Corps wide for unmanned squadrons and the first time it has ever been conducted on MCAS Yuma. Maj. Gen. Mark R. Wise, the commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, was in attendance as a spectator of the ceremony. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Isaac D. Martinez)
