The Family of Sgt. Roger Adams unveil the new sign dedicating the N.C. National Guard’s Benson Readiness Center as the Sgt. Roger Adams Center on Friday, June 1, 2018. Sgt. Adams, who was a member of the N.C. Guard’s Company A, 1-120th Combined Arms Battalion of the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team was killed on June 29th, 2009 while on patrol in Baghdad, Iraq, when the humvee he was riding in was attacked with an improvised explosive device (IED).
