FORWARD OPERATING BASE JACKSON, Helmand province, Afghanistan - Marines pay their final respects to three fallen heroes following a memorial ceremony for Scout Sniper Platoon, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Company, 8th Engineer Support Battalion, at Forward Operating Base Jackson, Aug. 16. Sgt. Adan Gonzales, Jr., and Sgt. Josh J. Robinson were killed in action conducting combat operations in Sangin, Afghanistan, Aug 7. Gonzales served as a machine gunner for SSP and was scheduled to go to Scout Sniper School in January. He was from Bakersfield, Calif. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Logan W. Pierce)
