Jones is one of 13 Soldiers competing for honors in such categories as drill sergeant/AIT platoon sergeant of the year; instructor of the year; Soldier of the year; and NCO of the year. Events included weapons qualification; Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills; examination; and board appearance. Jones was an NCO of the year contestant.
