Citizens of Bauska, Latvia, watch as the U.S. Marines from Delta Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, depart after the multinational civil engagement ceremony in Bauska, Latvia, June 2, 2018, as part of Exercise Saber Strike 2018. Citizens from the community of Bauska were encouraged to interact with the U.S. Marines and Latvian soldiers from Latvian National Guard 53rd Infantry Battalion and tour their military vehicles. The 4th LAR Marines conducted a road march from the port of Klaipeda, Lithuania, to deliver supplies and equipment to the training area in Adazai, Latvia, while conducting a number of static display events in a local communities along the way. The focus of the ceremony was the integration of multinational forces and the enhancement of the relationships between the U.S. Marines and their Latvian military counterparts.
