Sgt. Nathan Hanbury, an F/A-18 electrical systems technician with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron [VMFA(AW)] 225, stands at attention during the reading of his citation before receiving the Navy and Marine Corps Medal during a ceremony June 7 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, for his actions on Aug. 10, 2016. Hanbury, with complete disregard for his own safety, immediately ran into the water at Panama City Beach, Florida, when he saw a teenager struggling to stay above the water. Hanbury encouraged the teenager to keep swimming and helped him back to the safety of the shore. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Brytani Wheeler)
