An Air Commando with the 353rd Special Operations Group Detachment 1 performs pre-flight inspections of a CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft at Yokohama North Dock, Japan, April 5, 2018. Approximately 100 Airmen and five Ospreys deployed to Yokota Air Base to participate in regional exercises. The Osprey combines the vertical takeoff, landing and hover qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficient and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft.
