More than 25 officials and government agency representatives were airlifted into a recently discovered illegal marijuana grow site in the Mendocino National Forest July 29, during Operation Full Court Press. Operation Full Court Press was a focused operation involving the California National Guard Joint Task Force Domestic Support - Counterdrug and more than 20 federal, state and local partners whose mission was to identify and eradicate marijuana on public lands while reclaiming those same lands in Lake, Mendocino, Colusa, Glenn, Tehama and Trinity counties during the month of July with emphasis on the Mendocino National Forest. Immediately following the airlift, a press conference was held at the Redwood Empire fairgrounds in Ukiah, Calif. “The Mendocino National Forest is under attack by drug traffickers,” said Melinda Haag, U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California. “This is an intolerable situation and has to be stopped,” said Haag.
