Lance Cpl. Patrick Mclean, an assault amphibious vehicle crewmember with Alpha Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, loads ammunition into an AAV during a deployment for training (DFT) exercise at Fort Stewart, Ga., June 4, 2018. The section gunnery range utilized Marines as a cohesive unit to take down simulated enemy targets. The DFT helps maintain proficiency in landing the surface assault element during amphibious operations to inland objectives in conjunction with mechanized operations and related combat support in operations ashore.
