Cpl. Airic M. Monroe is a UH-1Y Huey crew chief with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 267, deployed out of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif. Monroe, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, is currently deployed to Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan, with 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (Forward). Monroe said he was inspired to join the Marine Corps by his grandfather who was a Marine.
