U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (March 2, 2018) An officer with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) observes the propeller on a Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) during a practical application portion of the amphibious operations curriculum of the Expeditionary Warfare School aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7), March 2, 2018. The 26th MEU is the first MEU in years to offer the curriculum while forward-deployed aboard a ship, which gives the students a chance to see firsthand what they are learning about in the classroom.
