Five 4th Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division Black Hawk Helicopters lift off at the Port of Rotterdam, Thursday, June 21 beginning onward movement to Illesheim, Germany. The aircraft and equipment for the 4th CAB out of Ft. Carson, Colorado arrived and was offloaded in Rotterdam June 20. They are deploying to Europe for nine months in support of Atlantic Resolve with 52 UH-60 and HH-60 Black Hawks, 12 CH-47 Chinooks, 24 AH-64 Apaches and 1,500 pieces of equipment as the third heel-to-toe rotation of a U.S. Army Aviation Brigade. For the next nine months 4 CAB will participate in missions and exercises across Europe, including medical transport and multinational exercise support, improving interoperability and strengthening relationships with NATO Allies and partner nations.
