After the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers completes its current temporary power mission, generators will remain on the island to support potential future emergency operations during the 2018 hurricane season.
As part of FEMA’s 2018 hurricane season planning, generators are being refurbished and more than 600 will remain and be stored on the island for potential use should they be needed. FEMA and the Defense Logistics Agency will ultimately determine the final number of generators that will remain in Puerto Rico.
