180623-N-KW492-0112 ATLANTIC OCEAN (June 23, 2018) Aviation Ordnanceman 3rd Class Alex Blanco fires a .50-caliber machine gun during an integrated live-fire weapons exercise aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) as part of Surface Warfare Advanced Tactical Training (SWATT). The Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group is completing the Navy’s first East Coast SWATT exercise. SWATT is led by the Naval Surface and Mine Warfighting Development Center and is designed to increase warfighting proficiency, lethality, and interoperability of participating units.
