RENO, Nev. (June 21, 2018) Students from the 9th Street Boys and Girls Club learn about the impact of water salinity on weather forecasting from members of the Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Command. Sailors and civilians from FNMOC were in town for Navy Week. Navy Week programs serve as the U.S. Navy's principal outreach effort into areas of the country that lack a significant Navy presence, helping Americans understand that their Navy is deployed around the world, around the clock, ready to defend America at all times.
