A CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 268 (Reinforced) lands on the amphibious assault ship Makin Island carrying simulated casualties during a mass casualty evacuation exercise here Sept 5. The squadron serves as the aviation combat element with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit embarked Makin Island and the amphibious transport dock New Orleans in San Diego Sept. 1 to begin its second seagoing exercise since becoming a complete Marine air-ground task force in May.
