The USS Wisconsin (BB-64) was the setting for a commencement ceremony for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program from the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. The commencement ceremony took place on the fantail of the USS Wisconsin (BB-64), with the Naval Medical Center-Portsmouth in the background for an iconic backdrop. The Class of 2018 comprised of ten graduates. The Wisconsin, an Iowa-Class Battleship, is a museum ship moored permanently next to the Hampton Roads Naval Museum and Nauticus, in Downtown Norfolk. The ship is made available free of charge for area commands military ceremonies, including promotions, retirements, graduations and re-enlistments by contacting the Special Events Coordinator at the Museum, Tom Dandes at Thomas.Dandes@navy.mil or by calling (757) 322-3106.
