Drill instructors with 1st Recruit Training Battalion assess a simulated casualty during a confidence course event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 25. Drill instructors practice CPR to sustain what they’ve learned from Drill Instructor School. Each drill instructor is certified with the American Red Cross for basic first-aid. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Bravo Company is scheduled to graduate Aug. 31.
