180707-N-KG618-1023 MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII (July 7, 2018) — U.S. Navy, Republic of Korea Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and Royal New Zealand Air Force P-3 Orions are parked in formation for a joint photo exercise on Marine Corps Base Hawaii for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise. Twenty-five nations, more than 46 ships and 5 submarines, about 200 aircraft, and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC from June 27 to Aug. 2 in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California. The world's largest international maritime exercise, RIMPAC provides a unique training opportunity while fostering and sustaining cooperative relationships among participants critical to ensuring the safety of sea lanes and security on the world's oceans.
