Basic water support technician Lance Cpl. Michael A. Galvan tests water purity here Sept. 8. Marines and sailors with Combat Logistics Battalion 11 operated a tactical purification system to make ocean water drinkable. The battalion provides logistics and services to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which began a sea-based exercise Sept. 1, its second aboard amphibious ships since becoming a complete Marine air-ground task force in May. Galvan, 20, hails from Newman, Calif.
