Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 40 is a provisional unit that comes into existence when 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing deploys forward. Even though they changed the name to the Smokin' Aces, its mission remains the same, providing quality components and aviation ordinance for the flying squadrons aboard Camp Bastion.
