With help from a fellow Soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Timothy McKnight heaves a chalkboard overhead and carries it into the Nazik Al Malaika Primary School in Baghdad. Chalkboards were handed out for classrooms of the school as part of Operation Backpack, a mission to promote education in the schools of Iraq. Soldiers of C Co, 1st Battalion, 156th Army Regiment of the 256th Brigade Combat Team, such as McKnight, worked diligently throughout the day to ensure that the children received as many chalkboards as possible.
