A member from U.S. Air Force band Airmen of Note reenacts the life and legacy of Col. Raynal C. Bolling. during the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling Parade as the base celebrates its 100th Anniversary Jul 3, 2018. Bolling Field was officially dedicated on 1 July, 1918, after the property was purchased by the War Department and turned over to the Aviation Section of the Signal Corps to serve as the primary aviation facility for the capital city. This new military property was appropriately named for Colonel Raynal C. Bolling, an early vanguard in the quest for Army airmanship. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt.
