An Army Reserve Soldier keeps an eye on gunnery operations at a M2 .50 caliber machine gun range on Fort Hood, Texas July 11, as Soldiers engage targets at distances ranging from 400 to 1500 meters. Nearly 400 Army Reserve Soldiers from the 415th Chem. Bn. and the 209th Regional Support Group, 76th ORC are currently conducting a variety of gunnery related training at Fort Hood as part of exercise Dragon Fire from June 27 – July 21. The 25-day brigade-led exercise provides an opportunity for the participating Ready Force X units to conduct training and qualification to meet the same gunnery requirements as Operation Cold Steel, while providing a gunnery infrastructure for future qualification events.
